Week seven of the One Room Challenge means I only have one week left to pull this thing together before the big reveal. This week is going to be all about accessories and final touches but I have to tell you this is my favorite part. I don’t mind trim work, painting, or hanging wallpaper but I absolutely love styling a space and seeing it all come together. This space is going to be all about art and color so that makes it even more fun.
For those of you who are stopping by for the first time, The One Room Challenge™ is a biannual interior design blog and Instagram event. In each round, twenty design influencers are selected to take the challenge as Featured Designers, and transform a space and any blogger or Instagrammer can join as ORC Guest Participant by linking their own room transformation each week. Every Wednesday, the designers document their process while sharing their sources and professional advice over eight weekly posts.
My previous posts on the topic are below if you need to get up to speed.

As you can tell this post is going to be heavy on art. The back entry hall is a small space but I’m going really big on art with a full gallery wall of bird-themed art. It all started with the white heron paint by number I already had hanging in the space. I did some shopping several weeks ago and ran across a few more vintage pieces of bird art and the gallery wall was born.
Hunting bird art became a labor of love. I found a few new pieces at the local farmers market, antique malls, and I commissioned a few of my own from local artist and talented people I found online. A pink a paper collage print from Vivienne Strauss, Paintings of “Diego” the pigeon and “What” the duck by Ashley Dietrich at Olives Place, and the beautiful “Clotile” a paper cut parrot by my new friend Melvin G
I even decided to get in on the act myself making my own papercut bird art out of paint chips and doing DIY Parrot Paint by Number I found on Etsy.
Then came the hard part, seeing if I had enough to fill the wall and trying to figure how to hang them. To solve this equation I made a template of the whole wall out of brown craft paper and started an interesting game of Tetris… I have a few spots to fill in but I think I got it!
The space is small, so there won’t be much furniture, but I did want a mud bench to take off your shoes. My original hope was for this red bench from Home Depot, but every time I went to order it was out of stock in red. (As of today it is back in stock.)
So I had to change course. In my hunt, I ran across this bench at TJMaxx and thought it might work but still had my heart set on red. When I got it home I saw the seat was easily removed so I could give it a quick coat of Cherry Red spray paint. I wish this one had a shoe shelf below, but I think I can make do with a basket instead.
I am also considering some wall hooks for coat and bag hanging so I bought these Franklin Brass Modern Slant Hooks in Black & Champagne Bronze to try along the top of the board and batten.
Being the entry hall I couldn’t pass up a cute door matt so I grabbed this Pink Wink cutie from Hobby Lobby.
Now I just need to get it all together before next week. That means hanging the art (and maybe making some more), touching up the trim, painting the thresholds, installing the hooks, and take some really awesome photos…
Oh dear, What am I talking to you guys for? I got to get to work.

Thanks Tina, When I knew I needed to fill a little more space in my jigsaw I figured I could get just the right-sized pieces if I made them myself.
