We are coming into the home stretch of this Fall’s One Room Challenge. I conquered paint, wallpaper, pin-striping, furniture makeovers, and this week I’m tackling the final layer, small furniture and accessories.
For those of you who are new to this the One Room Challenge is a twice yearly event hosted by Linda of Calling It Home. During this event twenty design bloggers take on the challenge to transform one space in just six weeks (or in this case seven weeks.) Every Wednesday, the designers document their progress while sharing their sources and professional advice. In addition to following along, everyone with a blog, (that’s me!) is welcome to join the fun as a guest participant by linking their own room transformations to Calling It Home.
I’m tackling my living room this go round. If you missed my previous posts you can keep track here:
Week One – Week Two – Week Three – Week Four – Week Five
You didn’t really think I could go black and white did you? Accessories means it’s time to pile on the color.
I’ll start by layering lots of pillows, some I’m making, some I bought, and some I already had,
along with a bold yellow Moroccan Pouf
I’ve gathered my art to see what will work.
I also found a Mastercraft Greek Key coffee table like this one at a thrift store. Mine has a replacement glass top but for just $80 I can afford to replace it with one that will inset like the original some where down the road.
For the end of the sofa I found a little round wire frame side table at Homegoods that I gave a coat of gold paint
But my one colorful splurge was a geometric tribal rug from Rug Source that I fell in love with.and I home will make everything pop.
Now I just need to pull it all together for next weeks final reveal. Get ready!
