Tickled Pink Painted Cuckoo Clock

Nothing says Germany like a Cuckoo clock. When in Germany, you feel like you must bring one home. Unforunately, the big brown Cuckoo just isn’t for me. Recently in a shop in Füssen, Germany, I saw a beautiful Pink Cuckoo Clock. Surely other clock stores would have these. I would shop around for a good price but I have yet to find another one. I searched the internet for a real German Cockoo Clock in Pink but they are hard to find at a reasonable price. When I found a little 6″ Cuckoo for 20€ at an antique shop I knew exactly what I wanted to do. Give it a makeover.

First, I made sure I didn’t get any paint on the face and movement by using painter’s tape to mask it off. Then I gave the whole clock a few coats of Krylon Watermelon spray paint.

Here are the results of all my (not so) hard work. After a few coats of paint, I have a German Cuckoo that I am tickled pink and completely cuckoo about. I love pink but any color you like would work. I have seen one done in white that was absolutely beautiful. If you are not up to painting one your self I have done a little research for you and found a few. They will set you back a little more than 20€($27) but then again you don’t have to do any work. Either way, you’ll be Tickled Pink with a Painted Cuckoo Clock.
