Hollywood Regency Guest Room Reveal

Hollywood Regency Guest Room Reveal

Over the past few weeks you have seen several post of my Hollywood Regency guest room progress but today it’s time for the big reveal. I have been working hard to add layers of color and pattern to my once basic guest. The transformation began with the addition of colorful Spoonflower removable wallpaper and has ended as a bright tropical oasis. Let’s take a look at few pretty before shots to remember where we started.

Before

There have been a few renditions of this room but the last updates where after my daughter left for college. These were pretty basic the room got new flooring and new bed but otherwise this room has been a bit of a catch all and not very exciting. The room wasn’t bad, just basic.

Guest Room Glamour

With this updated I wanted to leave basic behind. I wanted more color, more glamor, and with a Hollywood Regency style. Here was my vision…

And here is the execution. I brought in a few colorfor patterns to pull colors from and repeated those colors around the room.

From bright green night stands to my blue velvet sofa I added layers of color where I could.

Where the eye needed a rest I used black and white contrast to let the colors shine.

I also chose art that would complement the tropical print wallpaper and where I couldn’t find exactly what I wanted, I made it myself.

Now with everything pulled together in a theme my catch all pieces make a little more sense.

and the whole room has transformed from basic to glamorous.

  1. Very nice! I’d love to know more about the Dorothy Draper inspired window treatment. I was just at the Greenbrier last week and was obsessed with original (the example you had on an earlier post about the guest room project). Would love any information you might share about how you did yours.
