Crane and Canopy Master Bedroom Refresh

Crane & Canopy provided products for this post but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Today we are diving into my Crane & Canopy Master Bedroom Refresh. I’m sure you are all familiar with my master bedroom by now, it has been coral and green since my Spring 2016 One Room Challenge makeover. That was almost 6 years ago and at another house. I have loved this color combination but my shams have faded and it is long past time to replace the bedding. While I love everything I did in this room who wants to spend money replacing everything with exact same thing? Not me! So when Crane & Canopy reached out and offered to provide a new duvet cover set to get the master bedroom refresh started I jumped at the chance.

Crane and Canopy

If you are not familiar, Crane & Canopy, is an SF-based online bedding brand that offers beautiful luxury bedding, duvet covers, and home décor. They currently have over 100 duvet sets to choose from so the hardest part of this process was choosing which Duvet Cover would work best in my space.

The Plan

You know how I tackle that sort of problem, make a mood board! I knew this was not going to be a total room makeover, just a bedding refresh, so my starting point was to consider the furniture and rug that would be staying. The coral inspired a few different routes which incorporated a combination of navy blue and a chinoiserie print. I found that the Linden Collection in both navy and coral could fit with this plan.

In the end, I chose the Navy Linden bedding which is one of Crane & Canopy’s designer favorites. It’s crafted from 100% premium extra-long staple cotton and is woven in a 400 thread count which make sit super soft. Unlike other duvet covers, it also has some great convenience features like a hidden zipper enclosure (vs. buttons), Corner ties to prevent your comforter from slipping, and statement flanges for the extra pop of color. You know I’m always up for an extra pop of color.

Making the Bed

With the coral remaining, I wanted to alternate the bedding pieces between coral and navy to keep the eyes interested. I chose to repeat the coral similar to the bench in the quilt and again in the euro shams.

The coral is broken up with the crisp Navy Linden bedding. A navy throw pillow I made from a textured fabric I purchased adds a stronger navy out front. I also used strips of this fabric to create trim which I attached to my coral euro shams. This allowed me to bring the navy and coral together in one piece so I could repeat them both again.

I added a beautiful CHIANG MAI Sage Dragons sham I had custom colored and printed on Spoonflower. This print helps bring all the colors together. You can see the navy in the duvet set, the coral of the rug, and even the greens in the nightstand all working together.

By accident I was even able to tie in my lurking leopard needlepoint on the top of the bookshelf. He’s been up there a while looking a little out of place but now his navy background fits right in.

Getting Cozy

I admit somewhere along the way in most of my projects I have a little tinge of concern. Will this come together how I envisioned it? With this project, the stakes were even higher because I had a “before” I needed to live up to. Well, you can see I am sitting pretty in my new Crane & Canopy master bedroom refresh. I couldn’t be happier with the results. My Navy Linden bedding is soft and cozy. The navy is just as beautiful as the hunter green. And “Daisy” the official bed testing dachshund has given it her full approval. Thanks Crane & Canopy for the win!
