Hello All,
I’m Maggie Overby, a New Orleans native currently living in South Carolina. I have a degree in architecture but I have become an interior design junkie and a DIY-er extraordinaire. I am also a former military wife and a mom of two. Being married to the military has meant eleven moves in the last twenty years and lots of houses to put my stamp on. I am now an expert at setting up a house quickly and making a house a home without a high-end budget. When we moved to Germany in 2013 I decided it was time to start this blog to share my adventures with the world. Of course, we’ve moved again since then and are now residing in our second home in South Carolina. I went back to work full time in 2016 designing and project managing kitchen and bath remodels but I’m still all about making my house my home, this time in the house we plan to stay in for a while.

About the Blog:
I look thru magazines and see beautiful thing that cost loads of money, but who is that realistic for? I have learned that there are so many beautiful things out there for a steal if you know where to look and what to do with them. That is what I want to share. I want to show you how to “do it yourself” without it looking like you did it yourself, where to find things that look (or were) expensive on the cheap, and the joys of vintage. I want to show you my house and those of others who love beautiful things but not necessarily expensive things. I also want you to splurge once in a while but when it counts, on something you really love.
