My son recently moved out to headd to college so I my first point of business was to work on his sad bathroom. This makeover has been on my mind for quite a while so I can’t tell you how excited I am to finally reveal my new bathroom wallpaper in navy and coral by Urban Garden’s Prints. Urban Gardens is known for its quality art prints but has now ventured into printing wallpaper as well. When they asked me to test out this new product line I chose the design Sullivan’s Splash in the blush colorway. This colorful new paper has totally transformed a once drab bathroom into an explosion of color.
Before
When we first moved into our current home in 2017 the bathroom was full of some very dated wallpaper that was pretty drab and needed to be removed.
First Attempt
In 2018 I tackled that project during my 4 Week Bathroom Primp and Pamper. At the time my son was the primary user of this bathroom so I added a little color by painting the vanity but tried to keep a masculine feel.
Failure
Fast forward five years and I was running into a problem. The glue residue that I missed during my wallpaper removal was reacting with the high humidity in the bathroom and causing the paint to crackle.
This crackling get worse with every 45-minute shower my teenager took. I hated the state of the walls! I knew I would have to either bring in someone to skin coated the walls or prep them for new wallpaper.
After
A few weeks ago I was pulled from the depth of my crackled-wall despair by Urban Garden’s Prints. They shared that were taking a new venture into wallpaper and would love to have some designers test it out. I knew immediately where it needed to go.
The minute I laid eyes on it, I knew Sullivan’s Splash was meant for this room. In my last update, I painted Vanity Naval Blue, and the ceiling an aqua color called Skyhouse. The blush of colorway of Sullivan’s Splash worked so well with these colors I knew once the paper was up I’d only need a few touch-ups. As the project progressed I decided to paint the doors Navel Blue as well.
Up went the paper and lots of colorful new accessories. Including a Sherbert Sunset by The Painted Katie which also came from Urban Garden Prints and a vintage swimmer cut out I made myself (more on that in a later post.)
I also added a few fabic elements, a new Clerestory Cotton coral striped rug I found online and the Carnaby Stripe shower curtain and Textured Bath Sheet which were instock items at my local Walmart
A few wooden items were also added to the space to tie in the floors and bring in some warmth.
The mirrors, lights, and bath acessories were all installed in the previous remodel but I did change out the dated faucets and the broken cabinet pulls.
Now I walk into the bathroom with its new wallpaper and navy and coral accents I can’t help but smile. I love color and know the right mix can take a sad dreary space to a whole new level. That is exactly what happened here and while this wasn’t a major remodel the transformation is just as dramatic.

I’m so happy with the results of the added paint. I love the contrast it gives the room.
