One Room Challenge
It’s the week you have all been waiting for my Fall 2022 Master Closet Remodel ORC Reveal. I am as excited about this as you are. Completing the closet means I am finally moved back into my closet and it is better than ever. I have spent the past 8 weeks painting, papering, purging, and organizing so let’s take a look at the results.
If you are here for the first time and are completely confused, The One Room Challenge™ is a biannual interior design blog and Instagram event showcasing designers and Influencers. Everyone with an online presence is invited and welcome to join in the fun by linking up each Wednesday for eight consecutive weeks. Each Wednesday, the internet and social media are flooded with interior design inspiration, original ideas, encouragement, and motivation.
Each week I will update you on the Master Closet Remodel’s progress and keep you up to date here.

Before
I started with a decent size walk-in closet with a few sturdy built-ins. The basics were there but the style and organization I had been craving since we moved in were still missing.
The Plan
I came up with a plan that would turn my sad master closet into the fabulous space I dreamed of.
The Reveal
After a major purge and clean out of all the items that were no longer needed or not really intended to be in the master closet I was ready to begin my update.
I spent the first week painting the existing built-ins in Sherwin Williams Interesting Aqua. The following week I added the real star of the show, Tempaper removable wallpaper. I used two different zebra patterns on the end walls and the ceiling.
I also wanted to make a dramatic change to the lighting. A linear fixture that runs the length of the closet spreads light through out and adds interest.
Organization
While the design of the closet was fun the real update happened in the organization of the space.
I added a jewelry station, and clear storage containers for shoes, boots and small handbags. Additional shelves were added to the shelving towers to allow for more storage.
Simple hooks for belts and jackets also add simple but useful organization to the space.
One of my favorite additions to the space is completely practical but the Rolling Laundry Cart was a purchase I do not regret. Lifting heavy laundry baskets is a thing of the past and I am thankful.
With a little elbow grease I was able to create a space that is not only functional but also beautiful. Who says a closet can’t be a space that brings you joy? This one surely does!
