One Room Challenge
My ORC Master Remodel is looking up in week 5. So far I have cleaned, painted, and wallpapered the closet. It looks great but this week we are tackling the most important part of a closet remodel, organization!
If you are here for the first time and are completely confused, The One Room Challenge™ is a biannual interior design blog and Instagram event showcasing designers and Influencers. Everyone with an online presence is invited and welcome to join in the fun by linking up each Wednesday for eight consecutive weeks. Each Wednesday, the internet and social media are flooded with interior design inspiration, original ideas, encouragement, and motivation.
Each week I will update you on the Master Closet Remodel’s progress and keep you up to date here.

I will be sharing the progress as well as all the tools and materials I use in case you want to try them for yourself. I want to give a special thanks to Tempaper and Wagner Spray Tech for gifting products to help in the completion of this project.
You can also check out what all other ORC Guest Participants are accomplishing each week over at The One Room Challenge! So let’s get this party started.
My master bedroom closet started out looking like this, and this week is the most important part of keeping it from looking like this again. The closet started with a few problem areas that constantly created a mess. Today I am tackling all the little changes that will help me keep everything in its place.
Organization
The jewelry area I easily contained with a few storage boxes and a DIY wall hook bar to hang necklaces. I decided to add a mirror I already owned to this area for a quick morning dressing.
I left the existing shoe towers for shoes and added more shelves to accommodate more shoes. The belts only required the addition of a few new hooks on either side of the closet.
The existing storage easily accommodated my husband’s shoes. I, on the other hand, required quite a bit more storage. For this I added these M Design Shoe storage drawers. This addition added storage for 15 additional pairs of shoes.
A few added storage bins for smaller items like clutches and small purses to keep everything in its place.
The tie rack that was previously in the closet will remain.
I added coat hooks on the other side and on the end wall for jackets and robes. But my favorite addition has to be my new rolling laundry cart which makes collecting and putting away laundry a breeze.
Here are a few links to the items I used in this master closet organization.
Here is where I’m at as I finish week 5. I have just a few weeks left in my ORC Master Closet remodel and I’m getting excited about the reveal. But first, I must complete my to-do list…
