Guest Room Glamour
I realized after posting my Spoonflower wallpaper tutorial that I was moving a little out of order on my Guest Room glow-up. Normally I would share the plan with you guys before starting the work but my wallpaper arrived before Christmas and I was so excited to get it on the wall. That means I am working a little out of order this go-round. So to get you up to speed, today I’m sharing my ideas and inspirations for this guest room glow-up, Hollywood Regency style.
We’ll start with a look back. Not all the way back but just a few months ago when the guest room looked like this.
When my daughter move into her first apartment and took a few pieces of her old furniture I did a little rearranging. I laid new flooring and bought a new bed but all the other furniture was existing or moved from another room. I added a few new throw pillows and fresh bedding since the bed was a new size but the changes were pretty limited. That was how it stood until I got the idea to take the guest room up a notch.
I wanted to bring in more color, more glamor, and what better style for that than Hollywood Regency.
Hollywood Regency is glitz and glamour. Every detail is meant to convey luxury and there is always the feeling that people should look good in the design— particularly if they are wearing satin bathrobes and sipping a cocktail.

Inspiration
I think my guest will like wearing their satin robe and sipping a cocktail so I guess it’s appropriate that my inspiration comes from two amazing hotels that have hosted guests for over 100 years. The Greenbrier Hotel with interiors designed by the iconic Dorothy Draper and the epitome of Hollywood, The Beverly Hills Hotel. Have a look…
The Vision
Do you see my vision? Palm leaves, black and white, opulence, and luxury. The jumping-off point for this new look was the Spoonflower Banana Palm Life wallpaper that I couldn’t wait to share.
And my take on Hollywood Regency…
The blue velvet slipcover is going back on the sofa and layered in bright colors.
Like this Timeless Rug in pinks and greens.
Along with a more colorful collection of pillows.
In contrast to the color, I will be using black and white like I did on my Built-In Upholstered Daybed
The black and white will be repeated in the bedding, drapes, and an elaborate curtain valance I have planned.
I’m hoping once it all comes together I’ll have a luxurious retreat fit for relaxing Hollywood style.
More to come on the progress very soon.
