Hello my people! I am so glad for Friday to be here. I’ve had lots to do at work this week but not much motivation to get it done. On the other hand at home I have lots of motivation to get things done but not much time to do it. How does one balance that out? Too bad we can’t trade one for the other. Maybe a weekend of rest will rejuvenate and balance my time and motivation. Hoping to do some planning for some upcoming projects and maybe convince my husband to take me to lunch at The Gourmet Shop one of my favorites spots in Columbia, SC. It has a great menu and also a full selection of wine and cheese you can take home for your next meal. Chuck has been supposed to leave for a work trip to Egypt for two weeks now but it keeps getting postponed and each time we have planned to stop at The Gourmet Shop for lunch on the way to the airport. I’m tired of them toying with my emotions and my cheese so this weekend it’s The Gourmet Shop or bust. How about you guys, any exciting cheese plans for your weekend?
If not here are my hight five to inspire you…
- At first glance many of Janet Hill’s paintings look like amazing interior photo shot but on closer inspection they are colorful quirky paintings that are more Wes Anderson meets Dorathy Draper for lunch in palm beach than stiff interiors. I want to crawl into each one of her prints because I’m sure these people and places are a whole lot of fun! If you want to add one of her prints to your collection you can find them here at her Etsy shop.
- What I’ve been listening to: I have found that when I jog it’s easier to distract myself from the pure misery by listening to podcasts so lately I have been listening to A Beautiful Mess, with over 100 episodes now avaliable I’ll be able to keep the misery at bay for quite a while.
- While we are talking colorful and fabulous, How about these Aya Kicker heels by Kat Maconie? this pair is just one of the amazing designs from her iconic best sellers and hey come in several color ways for whatever your mood.
- I always love the cheeky needlepoint comment pillows by Furbish Studios but one of their newer releases “I literally Can’t” seems pretty approprate for the times. I think we may all need one, and that’s okay!
- Christmas is on the way and while I’m not one for a holiday village if I was I want it to be a midcentury one like these fun Laser Cut Wood Mid Century House set from World Market.
