The One Room Challenge™ is a biannual interior design blog and Instagram event. In each round, twenty design influencers are selected to take the challenge as Featured Designers, and transform a space and any blogger or Instagrammer can join as ORC Guest Participant by linking their own room transformation each week. Every Wednesday, the designers document their process while sharing their sources and professional advice over eight weekly posts.
Just a couple of weeks ago I completed my One Room Challenge – Back Entry Hall and while I love seeing my plans come to fruition, I REALLY love seeing everyone else’s plans take form. This spring there were so many beautiful completely origional rooms created during the ORC that a list of my favorites would be about five posts long. Instead of listing every amazing room I decided to narrow it down to a handful that share my love of color. From perfectly placed pops to downright saturated color take a look at these creative ways to add color to your home.
Bold Cabinets…
In places like kitchens and laundry rooms sometimes there just isn’t much wall space for painting bright colors, but who says the color has to be on the wall? Go all out on the cabits for a big punch of fun.
Colorful tile…
Grey and white bathroom are all the rage these days but they can be a little boring. Why use grey tile when there are so many colorful options out there? An added bonus, I think these two bathrooms would really help me get going in the moring…
Heads up…
How about using the ceiling as your colorful canvas? The rooms below are basically white rooms with all the drama on the ceiling. Love this idea in the nursery, instead of a mobile you get a whole garden on the ceiling.
Mix it all, everywhere…
If you are like me, maybe lots of different colors everywhere is more your style. For me this style usually starts with a multi color fabrc, rug, or piece of art which gives me a color pallet to draw from, then away we go.
Saturated floor to ceiling…
Lots of colors too overwhelming but you still love the drama? How about full saturated color everywhere? That’s right the ceiling too. Here are a few spaces that completely embrace you in deep color.
However you decide to bring in the color go with your gut your eye will be drawn to colors that make you happy. Certain colors will effect your mood and emotions and these colors are often different for each individual. When done well the perfect color choice will give your room just the feeling you want so go for it!
Here are a few colorful One Room Challenge™ spaces of my own.
