It has been a WEEK ya’ll, so I am more than ready for the weekend. Last week I was down sick for a few days with a cold, yes people still get colds, so this week was a lot of catching up. Although I hate it, being truly down and out sick is kind of good for me. I am terrible at just sitting and resting so being completely exhausted is just about the only thing that will keep me from go-go-going. The upside of this forced rest is that while my body rested I also rested my arm that I sprained painting the ceiling. It is now completely recovered and back to normal. This is a good thing because next week starts the Spring 2021 One Room Challenge which I plan to participate in for the first time in two years. I’ll be redoing my back entry hall which is small, but I am planning some big impact! Stop by next week to see the big plan and the sad before photos.
Now for my High Five…
- One thing I always think about is how fun it would be to restore the vintage 1950’s motels into one-of-a-kind boutique motels with each room decorated differently. When I ran across photographer Tyler Haughey’s book Everything Is Regional, which is full of these amazing northeastern coastal motels, it set my mind to dream.Even better is the hotel in the first image is actually for sale. Anyone have $3 million they want to loan me? Better make it $4 million, I got some decorating to do!
- This had me and my husband cracking up, if you have ever worked retail you will know exactly why. Check out this hilarious compilation of TikTok retail worker rants by Scott Seiss.
- You know I love ceramics so when I ran across this Primates Mandrillus by Elena Salmistraro I was in Love. This is a collection of vases in fine ceramic, designed to remind us of the delicate relationship between man and ape. It reminds me of how talented people are and what beauty they create because these are fabulous.
- I know this seems like a not very exciting high five but it is a convenience that I love so I thought I’d share. I know we all love our Chi hair products but did you know they also make clothing irons? I have a big steam iron with a 37-oz. reservoir for sewing but it takes forever to heat up the steam, for day-to-day ironing that is too long so I ordered a CHI Steam Iron (affiliate link.) This puppy is hot and ready to steam in 60 seconds…My life is changed!
- I love a great rug, check out this one from Airliftdesign on Etsy, it colorful hand-tufted wool, complete with unicorns and a pretty reasonable price. I think it will be going on my wishlist.
Have a great weekend,
