It’s Friday but I won’t be doing any high fiving. Last weekend while doing some painting I sprained or pulled something in my right forearm. The doctor assured me it was not broken but just overused. Well Doc, I go things to do… I guess for now the thing I’ll be doing is resting it but I am not good at staying still! So, this weekend instead of DIY I’m opting for antiquing and estate sales, and my husband Chuck is going to come along to lift things. I am hunting a vintage chandelier for an upcoming project so this is a good excuse for a drive up to Charlotte, NC to do some shopping… and maybe some good eating. Okay, definitely some good eating. How do you think I talked Chuck into coming along? How about you? Do you have any fun plans a girl can do while resting her arm?
- Is anyone planning a trip to Florence? If so can I hide in your suitcase? I’m tagging along only to visit the Gucci Garden Museum, a full-fledged museum Gucci celebrating the historical archives and contemporary vibe that Gucci has developed over the past few years. This exhibit makes my little maximalist heart swell. For now, I’m settling for the virtual tour but I will definitely spring for the 8 euro admission if I can just get myself to Italy.
- As we are all venturing out back into the world I ran across this Miranda Lambert video for We Should Be Friends after all the strife of the past year I wish you all a return solon visit like this.
- At our current house we do not have a pool but if I did decide to put one in I want one just like this Painted Pool by Alex Proba of Studio Proba
- You know from my papercut silhouette collection I love paper arts. Recently I ran across a new book that is now on my wishlist. Paperists: Infinite Possibilities in Paper Art (Available on Amazon affiliate link) is a celebration of contemporary paper art, a new book gathers a wide-ranging collection of collages, quilled portraits, and intricately cut landscapes from 24 artists and studios around the globe.
- I said I was hunting a new chandelier, well in my online hunt I ran across this cheery take on the traditional chandelier. The Hakola Cocktail Pendant Lamp Design by Hanna Anonen reminds me of multi-colored Nurf gun bullets and I love it. Maybe I can go rummage through my son’s closet and find enough to make a DIY version.
Stay well this weekend,
