As promised today I’m taking you on a tour of the new Home Solutions of Sumter office space, or at least what will be the office space for now. My contractor and partner , Al, wants to build our own building if all goes well, but for now we need a space to meet clients and set up a small shop with some storage space. The unit we chose is right in the center of town, at a good price and allows us to build out whatever we want… At least on the inside. But don’t worry the outside is gonna get a little love too. It also is an end unit with plenty of room to park the work trailers.
The inside is a 20′ x 40′ open shell with a small bathroom built out at the back. The bathroom is pretty basic but since our focus is kitchen and bath design I’d like to turn it into a little jewel box.
You can see in the first photo we had started framing the walls, but this is what we are planning to build out.
We’ll leave a good bit of space for the shop area, allowing enough room to back in a trailer if necessary. Behind that will be an office for Al with an entry into the shop space.
My office will be on the opposite side. I’m keeping it open and just off an entry area with a raised ceiling. Beyond that we’ll have a small kitchenette which will give us room for a coffee bar and some storage for office supplies and a place for the printer. The bathroom is just beyond that.
As of Sunday the drywall was up and the first coat of mud was on so I’m hoping next week we’ll be looking at paint! You know I’m already working on the design plan so stay tuned…
