Yesterday I shared lots of pretty pictures of the finished rooms of my house, Today I’m sharing not-so-pretty pictures of an unfinished room in my house. The hall bath has been an eyesore since we moved in with all its gold fixtures and 90’s wallpaper. Although it needed love I knew a full remodel was not in the budget so I have spent months figuring out how to get the most bang for my buck with a cosmetic makeover. So today, with all my plans in hand, I’m joining in a 4 week Bathroom Primp and Pamper hosted by Jewel at Jeweled Interiors. If you came over from Heather’s at Southern State of Mind, Welcome! Hope I can follow her lead with an amazing bathroom remodel.
But first I guess we need to have a look at what I’m be dealing with….
Like I said, the wallpaper has to go. That one strip I pulled off right after moving in and that is how it stayed. But it does make quite a statement.
The gold fixtures need to be removed or dealt with in a more modern way. Especially that shower door.
and some pretty ugly “Victorian” features that really aren’t my style have go!
So I guess you are wondering, what’s the plan?
Well, let’s check out some inspiration photos.

I bet you can guess, I’m painting the vanity!
I love the navy cabinets I’m seeing everywhere so I figured that as an easy fix with paint an new hardware. Since the bathroom will primarily be used by my son I’m thinking something a little industrial with gold accents (navy and gold rock by the way.) I plan to remove the gold shower door but I’ll see if I can make the gold faucets and shower handle work for now to save some $$$. I’m also planning a bit of removable wallpaper behind the mirrors for a look a little something like this…
What do you think? Anything would be an improvement but I’m hoping for fabulous!
And speaking of fabulous, up next on today’s hop is my Thrift Score Thursday friend Corinna at A Designer at Home. Can’t wait to see what she’s up to in her bathroom she has such an amazing bohemian flare, I’m sure we will not be disappointed. But I’m also excited to see what all these lovely ladies joining us today have in store so be sure to check them out.

Yeah, this bathroom needs a little bit of love… 🙂
Love your inspiration photos – mostly because they look a little like how I would like to see our bathroom turn out! Looking forward to seeing it all done.

I love where you’re headed!! Those lights are amazing. It’s going to look like a COMPLETELY different space!! Can’t wait!

It’s not really so bad except the wallpaper torn off. I agree the light fixtures could be updated…I have a similar one in our powder room that I just dusted and said “ugh” since I’m not in the Victorian decor style camp either. I want to find a different one too. Mine also is cheap and looks cheap. But my faucet and towel bars are very nice gold brass so I’m keeping those and going very traditional. I’m a lot older than you and our style is traditional/British Colonial. But I would be very unhappy if i had those shower doors, been there done that. I have removed them and gone with a curtain. Love your plan, killer rug. Good luck.

I can TOTALLY see you in those last two spaces. Can’t wait to see how it goes. Love your mood board babe!

I love the bathroom vanity inspiration shits. That’s going to look so good! My husband and I removed our shower doors as I found them confining and gross. There was mold beneath the track ?. But it was an easy job. I’m excited to see how this space comes together!

Thanks Corinna, definitely gross in the tracks and under, glad to be rid of this eyesore!
