It is half way through December and I’m just now sharing my Christmas Decor… but I promise I have a good reason. Last week they were shooting my house for the June 2018 issue of Flea Market Decor Magazine vert exciting but guess what people don’t have up in June? Christmas decorations! Fortunately I’m not one of those people who has a tree in every room of the house and tons and tons of holiday decor. It’s usually just the tree, the mantle, maybe the entry hall but I don’t go over the top which means it doesn’t take weeks to decorate. Good thing because this year there definitely were not weeks.
First order of business was where to put the tree…
I had plenty of room in the sunroom but in the end the library won out because of the fireplace. I could imagine a nice fire on Christmas morning so I moved my desk into the another room temporarily.
If you joined my holiday home tour last year you may remember last year’s tree was not too terribly different. I used my peacock tree topper and blue and aqua ornaments but this year I decided to add in more of the purple I used on my little German Peacock Tree. I did buy a few new faceted ornaments on sale at the end of last year but otherwise I just pulled out just about everything I had and added it to the tree.
Since I decided on the room with the fireplace I couldn’t forget about the mantel.
Garland, lights and few of the ornaments from the tree. I did make one new purchase this year after a little trip to Homegoods where I found new stocking that perfectly match my tree skirt and two that have some bling. I figure white would go with anything if I decide to change things up down the road.
For the entry I added just a few accessories more garland, a jar of ornaments and tree toppers
but best of all, my newest thrift find, a little brass deer that wandered my way just last week.
‘
Like I said, nothing over the top, just enough for some holiday cheer just in time for Christmas…barely.
