These last few weeks I have been working on completing my daughter’s room which is the large bonus room over the garage. After painting one of the biggest projects I needed to complete was the update to an estate sale find I scored a few months back. I love anything bamboo so when I ran across this faux bamboo dress at an estate sale just down the street from my house I couldn’t resist.
I ended up spending $100 on this dresser with great brass accents, even if they were a little tarnished,
and a large mirror. I really didn’t need the mirror but it came along with the deal.
After some prep work with a liquid sander and a few coats of gloss paint with my Wagner Paint Sprayer (affiliate link) the dresser got a bright fresh look.
Shining up the brass, however, took a little more elbow grease. I gave it several passes with my favorite brass polish, Bar Keepers Friend, alternating it with a few soaks in my husbands Sonic Cleaner (affiliate links.) He uses this to clean his brass ammo for reloading ad this puppy has been a game changer for cleaning even the dirtiest brass. Unfortunately there is a limit what will fit inside.
Now I have bright shiny brass set off by the crisp white paint.
It will also provide plenty of storage for a teenage girl who loves to shop.
Best of all, now that this project is complete I’m ready to wrap this room up so be looking out for the final reveal very soon.

Hi! Love the painted bamboo! Always nice to find a treasure to DIY! My daughter wants her room to be pink and I was curious about the color you used on the wall. Can you share that info or point me to the post where it is listed? Thanks so much!

Haven’t posted the full reveal yet but I’ll include it their too, it’s Valspar Mosaic Pink. It’s a great color, not too pink, not too peach.

Nothing fancy Cassie, for this one I used Valspar Project Perfect Enamel in gloss white. Surprise I picked it up at Lowe’s
