It’s time again for a little #ThriftScoreThursday fun! I am always in awe of all the amazing finds out there but never surprised. If you are willing to take on the hunt, you will find! For all you hunters who have been loyal #TST followers we love you and want you keep on sharing your finds but we also want to make some changes as we grow. Next week we are taking a break and doing some brainstorming on some new ideas to make #ThriftScoreThursday even better. I hope you won’t miss us too much while we are away… But it does give you a little extra time to thrift, right?
Now for my find…
If you stopped by the blog yesterday to see my One Room Challenge plans then you may recognize this week’s find. This amazing chandelier is headed to my laundry room makeover once it get’s a good cleaning. I am so excited to get it hung but first I wanted to share an up close look with you guys.
There is a little independent thrift shop close to my house that I pop in pretty regularly. Not too long ago I stopped in and saw this guy peeking out of a box full of paper shredding. I pulled it out and got super excited. You guys know by now I have a thing for lighting so I asked the girl stocking if she knew the price. She commented that the box had been in the back forever and they had just pulled it out trying to get things cleaned up but she didn’t know the price. I held my breath while she asked because this beauty was so nice and I knew that similar (not as nice) one’s from Pottery Barn cost $550. When the price they gave was $10 I was sold.
When I got home I went through the paper shreds and checked all the prism and was only three short. Luckily I was able to buy a few replacements online for less than $10 and now my chandelier is whole again and ready for action.
Into the laundry room she goes!
Now let’s have a closer look at what you found…
But first for the newcomers let me explain just what #ThriftScoreThursday is. We want you to participate! Hit up your local thrift stores, craigslist, yard sales, estate sales, side of the road, anything! Thrifty doesn’t necessarily mean from a thrift store. We want to see your good deals, wacky finds and true treasures.
You can share your finds any day of the week but features are shared on our blogs and Instagram on Thursdays, but we’re all checking in on (and using!) the hashtag all week-long. So, when you see/find it, feel free to share it! And we love it when you tag your friends to play along, too!
Each week Cassie from Cassie Bustamante, Corinna from A Designer At Home, Brynne from The Gathered Home, myself and occasionally a guest-host will pick a few favorite thrift scores to feature on our blogs! Please note that by linking up with #ThriftScoreThursday, you are giving us permission to share your finds via social media or on our blogs.
My Favorites:
Check out the gams on this thrifted lamp! Okay, I already said I had a thing for lighting so this pick from ampersand_home should be no surprise.
jmwearing found this large abstract oil painting at a thrift store which is amazing but I also love that she shares that everything else was thrifted too, minus the plant. She also added this thrifting tip – “always look for great coffee table books at thrift stores! I buy all of mine there and they are amazing ( and inexpensive) additions to your home.”My kind of girl!
I love this cozy shot from crazyoldeirene who took three mismatched and undersized throw blankets together to make this queen size bed covering. Sometimes you got to get creative!
You guys are always creative and that’s why I love seeing all your finds.
Now don’t forget to stop by and check out all my co-hosts to see what they’ve been up and their favorite #ThriftScoreThursday finds.
