Last week I showed you guys the bland before pictures of my laundry room as I kicked off week one of the One Room Challenge hosted by Linda of Calling It Home. During this event twenty design bloggers take on the challenge of transforming one space in just six weeks. Every Wednesday, the designers document their progress while sharing their sources and professional advice. In addition to following along, everyone with a blog, (that’s me!) is welcome to join the fun as a guest participant by linking their own room transformations to Calling It Home.
This week it is time for the for the fun stuff! All the inspiration and ideas I have for this space as well as what I have accomplished so far. You can see from the mood board above that I’m planning a whole lot of fun for this space and, in true Maggie Overby Studios style, lots of color!
My first inspiration for this space was a removable wallpaper from by Joan Mclemore on Spoonflower.
Which led me to this fun Pizzazz Rug from Home Decorators Collection and thing started rolling from there. FYI: Lots of little color accents will be coming into play. I’m particularly excited about using this Aspect Peel and Stick tiles for my backsplash…with a little twist.
and let’s not forget this beauty by LeighViner I’ve been drooling over.
For the laundry counter…
I feeling inspired by Vintage Revival’s amazing waterfall counter top.
and for my sad pantry…
I’d love a colorful version of this mud bench by House of Smith.
But of course, things have to get worse before they get better…
Lucky for me I kept my electricity all through the hurricane weekend and I actually got some painting done in Valspar Neon Mint, so the better is on its way.
Hopefully there will be more progress to share next week but until then a big thanks to a few great companies that will be sponsoring this makeover.
