Hello All, it’s time for another addition of #ThriftScoreThursday. Have you guys been out hunting this week? I have to admit, I have been a little slow on the thrift game this week. It seems like this time of year so much is going on and I’m spending so much money in other places that I need to trying to keep my shopping to a minimum and unfortunately, thrifting too. I have tried to be good but that doesn’t mean I could resist entirely.
I had to stop by just one estate sale, which was for a lady who had been a teacher in France. She had a pretty amazing collection of things which surprisingly were mostly Asian inspired. In all this Asian, I found this one pot that seems to be french art nouveau, though I haven’t been able to figure that out for sure.
The bottom of the pot has some pressed number markings and a handwritten mark, but as much as I have researched I haven’t found out much more.
But none the less, I think the pot is beautiful with its lovely hand painted flowers and the cracks and imperfections of age. For $5 I think it was worth the splurge and for an extra $3 I was able to take home a little of Asia too in my little bamboo stand that suits her perfectly.
Now let’s have a closer look at what you found…
But first, for the newcomers let me explain just what #ThriftScoreThursday is. We want you to participate! Hit up your local thrift stores, craigslist, yard sales, estate sales, side of the road, anything! Thrifty doesn’t necessarily mean from a thrift store. We want to see your good deals, wacky finds and true treasures.
Then, Simply post a picture of any recent thrifty find on Instagram using #thriftscorethursday!
You can share your finds any day of the week but features are shared on our blogs and Instagram on Thursdays, but we’re all checking in on (and using!) the hashtag all week-long. So, when you see/find it, feel free to share it! And we love it when you tag your friends to play along, too!
Each week Cassie from Primitive and Proper, Corinna from A Designer At Home, Brynne from The Gathered Home, myself and occasionally a guest-host will pick a few favorite thrift scores to feature on our blogs! Please note that by linking up with #ThriftScoreThursday, you are giving us permission to share your finds via social media or on our blogs.
My Favorites:
luvewant Picked up this contemporary art piece & knew it’d be perfect above her DIY mid mod dresser. I think it would be perfect anywhere!
mill_hello is in love with the “new“ little watering can in this shot, but I’m in love with pretty much everything here. That piece of furniture is so great!
zenith.house recently scored Japanese vases, sake cups and this minimal designer clutch. You know I love a great vase and the shape of this one would have had me at the check out too.
Anybody remember these cute little stools that were discontinued by Ikea a while back? Well, kberno3 scored 2 off a Craigslist ad! These would be great just about anywhere.
Wow, another round of goodies that have me super jealous!
Now don’t forget to stop by and check out all my co-hosts to see what they’ve been up and their favorite #ThriftScoreThursday finds.
