Hello Guys, How has your week been? Mine has been busy but not terribly taxing which has been nice. Today is my son’s 11th birthday (Happy Birthday Will,) he is my youngest so I am reminded how fast they grow. Another bitter-sweet reminder, Wednesday my daughter Katie go her driver’s license. This seems like a “Yah” moment but yesterday when I let her drive off by herself for the very first time and I admit I got a little teary. It was like sending her off to kindergarten only a whole lot scarier. I’m excited for them both as they get older and for all the new horizon’s that it opens but I’m kind of glad I get to keep them close just a few more years (but not too many.) High-five to that!
Here are a few more high-fives for the week…
1.I ran across the most beautiful San Clemente home tour by Black Band Design and honestly, I keep coming back to this chair. I’m always a sucker for texture and I’ve never seen on like this before so I can’t help bu want one of these in my life!
2. Check out all this hand cranked automation by Happiness Is Horizontal, these kinds of things just make me smile!
3. I met Charley Simpson years ago when she was working in her mom’s quilt shop, now she has a BFA from Savannah College of Art and Design in fiber arts and the most amazing portfolio. I am in love with her Harmony quilt with it’s earthy hues of natural dyes and textures of twills, chiffons, sateens, crepes and organzas. I can’t wait to see where life takes this talented lady.
4. I loved this tutorial by Ella Claire on how to watercolor pillows, the results are so light and beautiful.
5. As long as we are talking textiles, I am crushing on the Sonora Shag Wool Kilim Rug from West Elm. The combination of shag and flat weave is great and I think i would go very nicely with my dream chair above.
Have a great weekend,
