Hello all, It has been a while since I have hosted a #ThriftScoreThurday and I am so glad to be back. I follow along on Intagram every week and share my finds even if I’m not hosting and many people are scoring some amazing stuff. These last few weeks the feed has been flooded with amazing holiday finds and Christmas decor. Last week A Designer at Home was kind enough to feature my holiday finds, these amazing brass deer and beaded garland I scored along with a bunch of vintage ornaments for only $9.
If you look close you may see that after Christmas my deer friends will be taking up residence in the thrift score I’m sharing with you this week, a Christmas present to myself. When I spotted this Duncan Phyfe beauty a few weeks ago at a resale shop I thought it was a china cabinet which was fine with me even though I planned to use it as storage in my master bedroom. The lines where great, it was the right size, in relatively good shape and only cost $199. I’ll take it!
But this beauty had a surprise for me. Turns out it’s not a china cabinet at all but a secretary with a pull out writing desk and lots of little cubbies for storage.
And the perfect spot for addressing my Christmas cards.
An a perfect fit between the windows in my master bedroom. I’m planning on painting the walls a pale blue/grey soon which I think will look amazing next to the pretty mahogany finish of my new/old secretary.
Before I share with you my favorite Thrift Score Thursday finds from others I thought I’d tell you a little about how it works if you’d like to join in the fun.
How #thriftscorethurday works:
– You can share any thrifty finds – whether they hail from a thrift store, Craigslist, estate sale, garage sale, side of the road, or apartment dumpster! The fun, the funny, the awesome, the odd – this hashtag party is open to all!
– Feel free to use #thriftscorethursday any day of the week! They’ll be keeping up with the hashtag all week-long to find our favorites for the following Thursday.
– Each week, Trisha from Black and White Obsession, Cassie from Primitive and Proper, Corinna from For My Love Of and Brynne from The Gathered Home will pick a few favorite thrift scores to feature! So please note that by linking up with #thriftscorethursday, you are giving us permission to share your finds via social media or on our blogs.
Now for my favorite #thriftscorethurday picks of the week:
TheHomeICreate Found this brass gazelle at a second-hand sale for $5. I’ve scored a few brass animals lately but now this great.
erin_coleen Couldn’t decide if this pair of drapes from the Salvation Army were awesome or awesome-ish, I say awesome! And if you’re a chair hoarder like me (#MOSChairJunkie) you’ll definitely want to check out her feed for some pretty amazing chairs.
Aanabode Scored this super cute pennant from her husband’s hometown. I bet that amazing radio is a second-hand find too.
I’m a huge fan of thrift store art especially if it’s an original. VWBuggieThrifter found this beauty for only $14.99
and these are just a few of the amazing things people are finding out there.
