Months ago I fell in love with Robert Allen’s Neo Toile fabric in Coral. I bought several yards with no idea what exactly I was going to do with it, I just knew I had to have it. After much deliberation my Neo Toile has finally found a home.
Last year I bought two Ikea Solsta Pallbo foot stools that were 10€($13) each. Although these are no longer available, they do carry the BOSNÄS which is very similar but also contains a storage compartment, bonus! I use these little stools for added seating around the coffee table dinners on pizza and movie nights so they kind of important. They started life with grey canvas slip-covers. Practical but not very pretty, on top of that the fabric did not wash very well which defeats the point of a slipcover.
I thought the Neo Toile would be a great replacement. It is 100% cotton linen and although it is recommended to have it professionally cleaned I did a test swatch through the washer and dryer and it washed beautifully. A bit of shrinking but linen fabrics always stretch back out pretty quickly. I know because I had a pair of linen pants once that I almost lost by the end of the day, but that’s another story…
So with coral cording and a coral band at the base I whipped up a pair of slip covers fit for our family pizza parties, washer friendly, and much cuter than those dreary grey ones.
Plus they look great with my orange accessories including my huge Amsterdam onion vase.
And I had just enough fabric left over for a pillow for my circle chairs.
Now I can go hunt a new favorite fabric that I have absolutely no need for. Fabric, why do you taunt me so?

Wow, poor grammar alert! I meant to say I even like them better on the ottomans than on pillows, primarily because you get to see the imagery so well:)

Don’t worry Heather I won’t judge, I do it all the time. I love this fabric too. After I saw Emily’s wall I was in love with it in full scale but was worried it may not translate as well onto smaller objects. I think the footstools were just the right size. By the way I stopped by you blog, love it!

Gorgeous fabric and the trim on it is perfect for those stools. Now I think I may have to buy some for myself.

Hi. Love your handiwork with the fabric. Looks gorgeous. I live in the U.K. and have loved this fabric for ages. Sadly, can’t access it here. Any ideas????

Thanks Sue, Have you checked out Fabric.com? Their prices are very good and they ship internationally. I have recommended them to my friends in Germany where fabric is very expensive and they found it was cheaper through to buy fabric through them even with the international shipping cost. Don’t know how fabric prices are in the UK but it Might be worth a try.
