Yesterday I returned home from my very first visit to the Netherlands. We spent the majority of that time in Amsterdam. My family and I spent five wonderful days there enjoying all the city had to offer. While there is so much to say about this lovely city I thought most of it could be said with the photos I took.
Amsterdam is a compact city that is easily seen on foot, by bike (one of the more favored modes of transportation), or by boat along the city’s famous ring of canals. Most of my viewing was done on foot and occasionally by boat since my skills in the high-traffic bike lanes would not have been appreciated.
All through the city there were sites to be seen, architecture to be appreciated and a sense of joy in living that is infectious. I have to say Amsterdam may be one of my favorite places I have visited so far.

Ok Maggie…now I have to add this to my ever growing list of places to visit! How beautiful, and I love the idea of seeing it by boat. It’s so wonderful that you are all traveling and seeing so many new things!!
You definitely need to add it to the list! We are so blessed to have this opportunity to live abroad and are trying to take advantage of it as much and as often as we can. Next big trip is to Paris for Christmas, got any pointers? e-mail me!
