I am a big fan of thrift shopping so I wanted share with you an upcoming event that I SO wish that I could attend. I am a bit far in Germany but maybe some of my readers will think it’s worth the trip.
Yesterday I received an email from O’verlays.com requesting the use of one of my photos for an upcoming charitable event they are sponsoring. I am honored that they wanted to use my photo but I am even more impressed by the event they are sponsoring. Imagine a designer show house where absolutely everything is for sale. If you happen to be in Dallas, Texas in April that is exactly what you will find. Starting April 1oth with a Preview Party and continuing through May 10th with Tues – Sat access to their Pop-Up Store Thrift Studio will be open to the public.
Thrift Studio is a not-like-any-other-thrift-store. This thrift store was created bi-annually to provide financial viability and fundraising for Dwell with Dignity, a charity that helps families escape poverty & homelessness. Each Thrift Studio has a cast of fabulous designers who design and install vignettes using items from the Thrift Studio warehouse as well as items they have donated from their own inventory or through their industry connections. All items from donated furniture and housewares to accessories and high-end designer finds are for sale to the public. All proceeds benefit the future work, growth, organization and structure of Dwell with Dignity.
