This Jenny Lind bed in Azure from Land of Knod retails for $699
As most of you may have notice by now, I love color! Lately I have been seeing the most beautiful painted beds, particularly in the Jenny Lind style with turned spindles. Some of the big retailers are now selling them in a full size version for almost $700. I saw these great photos and hunted around until I found this guy at a flea market for $40.(Now if you don’t want to hunt so hard you can probably find one at an antique mall for $150 to $250, still a big savings from $700.) You can also find metal versions of these beds that are not as detailed but are usually pretty inexpensive and very sturdy.
I got a great bargain on mine and it definitely needs a little TLC but I needed a bed at a good price so I was willing to work. You may also know by now that I love spray paint, on anything that has this many nooks and crannies spray paint is a great way to go. Make sure to spray the spindles from all angles using several thin coats and the results will be the perfect addition to any bedroom. The photo below shows the finished product which is now in my daughter’s bedroom.
Don’t worry if you can’t find this style or have a bed of your own you would like to paint just about any style will work. Scroll down to see just how cute and colorful these painted beds can be.
