Thrift Score Thursday – May 28, 2015

thrift score Thursday is back mid century

DSC08353Today I am super excited to be a guest host #ThriftScoreThursday, for the second time. I am a thrift store, flea market, classifieds junkie and since next week will be our last week in Germany I have shopped extra hard! I have enjoyed our two years here and have spent many an hour at the markets and thrift stores hunting down some pretty amazing things.

The photo above is of my #ThriftScoreThursday finds of the week. Some I scored at the thrift store but most of them came from the amazing German Flohmarkts (fleamarkets.) I started with this cute mid-century side table that I got for 20€ ($23)

At another market I score three pieces of original art for just 10€ ($12) of course I had to try them each out with my vignette to see which one worked best…

In the end the lady won out because she did not compete with the flower arrangement.

Ceramics are big here in Germany and I have a huge collection of west German Pottery so when I saw the pretty glaze on this blue vase it came home with me for 2.50€ ($3) and of course the little lamb, he was pricier at 8€ ($9.50) but I thought he was so sweet.

And my 8€ ($9.50) clock and my 2€ ($2.75) silver plate creamer.

My whole vignette  for under 44€ ($50) makes me quite happy!

Before I share with you my favorite Thrift Score Thursday finds from others I thought I’d tell you a little about how it works if you’d like to join.

How #thriftscorethurday works:
– You can share any thrifty finds – whether they hail from a thrift store, Craigslist, estate sale, garage sale, side of the road, or apartment dumpster! The fun, the funny, the awesome, the odd – this hashtag party is open to all!
– Feel free to use #thriftscorethursday any day of the week! They’ll be keeping up with the hashtag all week-long to find our favorites for the following Thursday.
– Each week, Trisha from Black and White Obsession, Cassie from Primitive and Proper, Corinna from For My Love Of and Brynne from The Gathered Home will pick a few favorite thrift scores to feature! So please note that by linking up with#thriftscorethursday, you are giving us permission to share your finds via social media or on our blogs.

My #thriftscorethurday Picks:

As always people are finding some great stuff out there.  It’s always so hard to choose just a few but here are a some of my favorites.

Untitled scored this super cool head which was an ugly pink before she made it super sleek by painting it white.

BrandinellThese brass pineapple urns found by these are totally on trend and she scored not two but four!

stylemuttI love this cute mid century folding table found by. You know I’m a sucker for some mid-century color!

Modemjunky

You know I have a thing for chairs so I’m drooling over this egg chair found byMy daughter might never come out of her room if I could find one of these for her.

So jealous of some of the finds this week! If you are on Instagram feel free to check them all out or even add your own #thriftscorethursday items.

If you’d like to see my co-host’s favorites, be sure to stop by and check out Brynne, Trisha, Cassie, and Corinna’s favorites at the links below…

  1. Wow girl you really know how to pick them out at the thrift store. The vignette is so pretty down to every last detail. That mid century side table really is the show stopper. I probably would have fallen for the yellow art display- mostly because bold colors have really grown on me in the last couple months.

I cannot believe I missed that egg chair from modemjunky, seriously that thing is INCREDIBLE!!

Good luck on your coming move, I hope it goes as smooth as humanly possible.

    1. I was very tempted by the yellow myself, love the colors in all of them but the yellow does pop. Maybe it needs to be a rotating gallery so I can enjoy them all.
Thanks for the well wishes for the move, I’m gonna need it!

  2. I am just swooning over the vignette you put together! Like Trisha said – every last detail is so lovely! I love that little lamb – to me, it looks a little like he could have just tumbled out of the painting. Thank you SO much for joining us again, Maggie! Seeing your gorgeous finds is always so fun!
