Do you remember these guys? I got the whole set for 50€ at my local thrift store. I bought the chairs and just as I was walking out the door I saw this great yellow table. The store had it set up as a children’s table with little chairs but I knew I could totally use it as a side table. I loved the yellow, so it became my inspiration. I found the new line of HGTV fabric online and I was hooked. I knew this teardrop pattern would be perfect with its bold retro look.
With a quick sanding and a coat of black satin spray paint I was able to breath new life into the chairs. I made new covers for the cushions out of HGTV Groove Move in Malachite. This fabric was a little pricier than my usual selections, at $18 a yard, but I was able to get by with only 3 yards so I figured it was a good splurge. Total cost for two awesome retro chairs and a super cool yellow tulip style table? $140, not too shabby!
